NOTES FROM NORTH OF THE BORDER
May 2008
Hello again, it has been a while and here we are into early spring and time to dust off the Cougar and get it out into the sunshine. These newsletters are becoming scarce due to the fact that we sometimes have a hard time finding new material and articles. In the past I have repeatedly asked members to submit ideas or perhaps write a story on say, your experiences with a car restoration or mechanical troubles or any other idea, but it seems these requests have fallen on deaf ears.
This year, once again the GLCC will co-host along with the Western New York Shelby Club our annual All Ford day car show. This year, we have decided to move up the date to June 22 so this show will not conflict with the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle. So mark this date on your calendar and lets get out and support our club.
Sunday- June 22, 2008 - George F. Lamm Post 962 Wherle Drive between Union Road and Cayuga Drive in Williamsville, For Canadian members wishing to attend, Williamsville is just east of Buffalo not far from the airport.
In April I made a trip to western Canada and came home with a 1968 radio in my carry-on bag, while there I met some of the folks from the Fordnutz car club and attended one of their meetings. I was able to find out if there were any new developments with regards to the Cougar Club of America.
I have found that two former directors are back at the helm and trying to make this club work again. As of this writing there has been some financial problems, and cost problems associated with the newsletter printing, I will try to keep all posted because I know that some of our members also belong to the CCOA. My feeling is that it will fly again although it may take some time.
I will have an updated calendar of events posted on the GLCC web site within a few days. Hope to see you all some time this summer season
Jim Megannety: President: Great Lakes Cougar Club
