Notes From North of the Border sticky icon

Hello again and once again summer time is here, this past Sunday was the 33rd. annual all Ford day show at the George F. Lamm post in Williamsville, NY. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky and we had a record number of attendees 158 cars in total all went well and money was raised for Mercy Flight of western NY.

We had a total of about 13 Cougars make it out Sunday I would like to thank all GLCC members for showing up to support the club.

Awards went out to three different Cougar classes’ as follows:

Class 10- 1967-68 Cougar: First place-Steve Spira and his Orange 68 and second was myself with a 68 XR7

Class 11-69-73 Cougar

Three winners- first place Debbie Ast with her nice red 1970 convertible, second place John and Michelle Castelli who drive a 1969 XR7 convertible, I like the wheels on their car and 3rd. in class was Bob Ludwig and his beautiful 1973 coupe which he has owned since new, Bob is one of the founding members of our club.

Class 4- Ford Lincoln, Mercury 74 to present winner was Bob and Kathy Jurek and their black 79 XR7 Bob and Kathy have been with the GLCC since the start as well.

Last but certainly not least was Class 24 Boss Mustang/Cougar Eliminator first place went to our own Cindy McCarthy with her nice 1970 Eliminator sunroof edition.

Once again thanks to all who helped make our show a success and we look forward to doing it all again next year.

Stack Em High !

“It started off with just to put one block on wheels with some scrap metal I had and sorta evolved from there. If you lift the top engine off without unbolting it, it will lift off with 4 legs and you can just set it aside. Same thing with the middle engine. There are 4 small posts (unistrut scraps) welded inside the lower frames to "dowel" the above legs.”

A Ford C 800 transporter was used by Bud Moore to haul his Mercury Cougar's to the track.

Info about Bud Moore’s TransAm Cougar carrier!

This site also shows a model built of this carrier.
