Fall 2008

Notes From North of the Border sticky icon

Hello everybody, it’s certainly been a long time since I written anything or better yet since we have had a newsletter. One of the main reasons is because we have had nothing to write about. The Christmas season is almost here and cars are sleeping for the long cold winter ahead. But already I see on the Classic Cougar Yahoo group there is some talk of Carlisle All Ford show next June 2009, just around the corner, spring will be here before we know it.

In the last season we had another successful show together with the Shelby club of western NY we had about 125 vehicles show up and the weather was perfect although the grass was very spongy from all the rain last spring about ten Cougars on the show field so a big thank you goes out to all our fellow GLCC members who showed up to support our club. We do plan on doing this again next year so stay tuned for further details. At press time I was unable to get the results from our show, so I will make this short and sweet, until next time have a safe and happy holiday season and a wonderful 2009.

Ford Formula , Cougar , Focus WRC Racing

Here's a neat video showing the difference in speed and time on the track of a few select cars including a Cougar. Unfortunately not a very fast Cougar. We'll take any publicity we can get.

Gibbs Cougar

The back cover of the November 2008 issue of Muscle Car Power magazine shows this ad for Joe Gibbs oil. That's a sweet looking ride sitting in a beautiful shop. I wonder who owns this car. It would be interesting to find out.

The Dynacorn Cougar.

Here's a recent post from a member of a Cougar list group.

"Lets all cross our collective fingers, Dynacorn Industries is seriously looking into producing reproduction Cougar panels. Dynacorn apparently sought out several of the classic Cougar vendors for input into this venture.
Don Rush of West Coast Classic Cougar contacted me in regards to my 1968 shell that I had for sale.
